Height:	468 m	/	1535 ft
Notes:	A special Tor on Dartmoor as it's the site of a late Neolithic / Early Bronze Age fort & settlement. Thought to be over 3000 years old. Outlines of walls & buildings are clearly visible in the lines of rocks the are assembled on the flat top of this tor. 	Parking
	You can park close to Little Combe Tor (SX 52110 77850) and follow the path past Stephen's Grave and up the side of White Tor.

	White Tor sits inside or close to a military range. Please check the firing times for MERRIVALE RANGE at the Dartmoor Training Area Website before visiting this tor.

Leg	Instruction
1	Park your car at the car park at Cox Tor (SX 53137 75150).
2	Cross the road and head across the small patch of ground toward Little Staple Tor.
3	From here climb the hill to Middle Staple Tor and on to Great Staple Tor with it's towering gateway stacks of granite.
4	Roos Tor is now visible about a quarter of a mile NNW of Great Staple Tor. Cross over to Roos Tor. You can ignore the range warning sign on the top as you will not be crossing onto Merrivale Range on this walk.
5	You should now be able to see White Tor directly north of Roos Tor around a mile and a quarter away. The distance is quite deceiving as White Tor looks much further away when the weather is worse! A strange optical illusion.
6	There are plenty of animal tracks from Roos Tor to the end of the wall that encloses fields belonging to Wedlake Farm. Please do not climb the wall and shortcut across the fields. Continue to the end of the wall where the ascent to White Tor is obvious.
7	When you reach White Tor's summit you'll notice several mounds of stones. These are the remnants of and Iron Age fort and settlement, thought to be over 3000 years old. The views to the upper moor, Tavy Cleave & Great Links Tor are stunning and White Tor is a great spot to have lunch and just enjoy the views.
8	Head SW from the top of White Tor and you will see a well walked park crossing the moor from W to E. Aim for Stephens Grave (SX 53602 78115). A fascinating story surrounding this Stephen's Grave can be found on the Legendary Dartmoor site
9	ow follow the track S into a corner where several fields meet. You will see a brook with a gate beyond. A signpost then clearly shows the bridleway route across a field. Please make sure you close the gate when you pass through.
10	Once you are across the field and back out on the moor, follow the track toward the corner of the wall and then you are on the last climb of the day up the side of Cox Tor. make sure you stop and admire the views to the west of Brentor.
11	After several false summits you will see the Trig Point sitting on top of a mile of granite. The route back to the car is a nice descent along a well trodden path.
